Had a great stay here in the Prior Room! Everything was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable I was exhausted after a long day, so I didn’t make it to the lounge but the food smelled amazing when I walked in! Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Almonte!

This is a lovely spot for a nice getaway to Almonte, which is a picture perfect small town with lovely waterside views. The building is old, so expect the noise coming from wooden floors and the drafty areas around windows in the winter. Parking is provided for guests, but there is a fairly popular restaurant in this b&b, so best to check with the staff if you don't find a suitable spot. We had our dinner at the restaurant in the b&b, and it was very good. Service was good, too. The continental breakfast was included and covered the bases very nicely. The coffee is self administered from a fancy deLonghi machine, and it is very good coffee! The overseer for breakfast was very nice and she can give you some additional information to make the most of your day in Almonte. The only thing that could be better for me, would be better ventilation within the kitchen. The smell/smoke from the kitchen was a bit much for me, and noticeable even within our room...and clothes and hair. I suspect it's better in the spring thru fall, when windows can be opened. I'd recommend this spot for an easy overnight or weekend getaway. The location is great for the views and to wander around town on foot. Whether you spend the night or not, go to the restaurant. The cocktails, wine, and food are worth the visit!

Staff is super nice and readily accommodated us keeping temp controlled medical supplies in their commercial fridge. Loved that they had kayaks and paddle boards for us to use. The hot tub and sauna were really nice too. Great experience!

We recently stayed overnight at the Monte Inn and enjoyed our wedding dinner at the Lounge, too! My husband and I had a wonderful time. We spent the weekend with family from out of town staying at our home nearby while the two of us had a super special stay in the Captain's Mess room at the Inn. It is a magical place with beautiful views, a fireplace, so much character, and a super cool bathroom/vanity area! The Captain's Mess was where us girls got ready prior to the wedding dinner (which was just downstairs in the Lounge)! We reserved the upper dining room of the Lounge, and weeks leading up to the dinner, we worked with the incredible Chef, Richard, and Manager, Bo, on the reservation and a custom menu. The night was PERFECT! The food was out-of-this-world, great and so were the vibe and service. Richard nailed it with the vegetarian dish for three of the 12 adult guests and also with the meals for our 2 young nephews. If you're looking for somewhere romantic, beautiful, cozy, and special to stay overnight while in the Almonte area, we highly recommend the Monte Inn, and especially the Captain's Mess if you're looking to gather a couple people to get ready prior to an event. And although we've been to the Monte Lounge for drinks and food (the best in town) many times before our wedding weekend celebration, we were thrilled with the delicious food and cocktails served at our special dinner. A weekend we'll never forget, with the Monte's wonderful hospitality threaded through it, perfectly. Thank you, Monte crew!! C&A

My wife and I spent three wonderful evenings in Almonte, meeting with great friends and enjoying all that Almonte had to offer. The Inn is a charming historical house located to Almonte’s famous Mill Street. We stayed in the Wylie room on the second floor. The only thing it lacked was a closet. Even though we stayed during a cold and snowy period in December the room was tastefully decorated, the bed comfy and other amenities well done. We had a continental breakfast each morning with fresh baked goods, coffee/ tea, juice, yoghurt and granola. We learned a great deal about local history and places to go from our very helpful hostess, a local born and bread Almonte girl. We shopped and ate along Mill street ( there are no bad choices) and hiked the riverside trail. On the edge of town we visited Vodcows, a wonderful eatery and confectionery.

Five stars hands down. A beautiful place to stay. We had a view of the river, and walked to near by restaurants and shops. We ate supper once in the restaurant downstairs, and had breakfast in the morning. Dinner was amazing. We will be back just for that. We ordered two entrees for my husband, as the portions are on the smaller side, and he has a big appetite! He loved both. The menu has since changed, but he had the duck sliders and the arancini and couldn't get over how good they were. The continental breakfast was delicious.

Beautiful Inn! Room was very nice with a panoramic view of the river Breakfast was continental style with fresh baked goods & plentiful other options as well. Extremely friendly staff offering suggestions of places to visit. Location is very convenient to everything The inn also included kayaking & stand up paddle boards free to guests We didn't take advantage of the hot tub or sauna as the weather has been quite hot. The cold plunge is a nice feature though
